Default Yonder Way Farm comes to Spring Trails

My name is Sheri DiStefano. I have lived in Spring Trails for over nine years. I am leading an exciting community project to bring Foods Fresh from the Farm right to our neighborhood. In your mailbox soon will be our November/December Spring Trails New letter. Look for the article about Yonder Way Farm that details this project and information on how to become involved with it.

During “National Night Out”, I introduced Yonder Way Farm with our residents that attended. I gave out 115 brochures, had wonderful conversations, and answered many questions. When I got home, I wrote down all the various questions that were asked. They were all great questions, and I am committed to answering them publicly on this forum. Be sure to check this thread daily, as I will post one of those questions a day with its answer.

Feel free to check out Yonder Way Farms website: www.yonderwayfarm.com

If you can’t wait for the newsletter to arrive in your mailbox, email me @ sheri.distefano@gmail.com, and I will email you a copy of the article.

Q3. Where can I find out pricing?

Pricing can be found on www.yonderwayfarm.com.
It is listed on the “Order Form” for the majority of products.

Chicken prices vary and are announced in an email from Yonder Way
Farm shortly before the orders are due. Feel free to call the farm directly
@ 979-530-4444, if you don’t receive this email.

Q4. I don’t cook. Does the farm sell prepared foods?

The majority of the foods require preparation in your kitchen, but you can choose how complicated or simple the prep work will be. Farm fresh milk tastes great straight from the carton.

Q5. I have a friend in Imperial Oaks. Can they participate?

The answer is “No”. The Yonder Way Farm “Food Drop” located at our
Community Center (by the pool) is for Spring Trails Residents Only.
Interested families can participate at other drop locations in the
surrounding area (Including: The Woodlands & Houston).

Q6. Are you affiliated with the produce co-op happening in the back of Spring
Trails?

Yonder Way Farm will be making its 1st appearance in Spring Trails on November 14, 2013, so it is not affiliated with this residential co-op.

Through my personal experience, residential co-ops receive organic produce through the same channels as local supermarkets. The advantage is getting it all fresh from the distributor, along with the knowledge that a retailer cannot apply preservatives to it at the store location.

The produce that Yonder Way Farm delivers comes fresh from the field by another local farm, FINCA PURA VIDA. They specialize in ecological heirloom varieties of produce that are beyond organic with their farming practices. You will receive produce varieties that you cannot purchase at your local supermarket.

Check out their website at: fincapuravida.org

Q7. Is this project sponsored by the HOA?

Your HOA board has approved the delivery of pre-ordered merchandise to be exchanged on community property with verified Spring Trails Residents.

This project is classified as a Community Club, and is not part of the “Special Events” HOA budget.

Your HOA dollars are not being spent on this project.

Q8. How will my food be transported to Spring Trails?

Your food will arrive in an air conditioned trailer pulled with a pick-up truck. Produce are stored up front with the air conditioning unit. Meat products, dairy, & eggs are stored in the back in coolers.
